Harvest and Crush 2014 is slowly coming to an end, and the winemakers around here are doing a happy dance. Summer arrived early and stayed nice and warm, without any major heatwaves or downpours – just what the Pinot Noir grapes love. Early warm = early harvest, and there are whispers of “better than 2012” and “best vintage ever,” which hasn’t been heard since, well, 2012. Yields were at all time highs, increased by 30-40% in the vineyard. Time, as always, will tell.
