Now that you know a little something about the back-story of the Noble Pig name, maybe you’ve also noticed we’re fairly unique in our choice of putting a noble barnyard denizen on our label. Not that the animal kingdom isn’t well represented in the Oregon wine industry. Another popular winery naming strategy is to pick a woodland or wetland creature, then pick a geological or topographical feature and combine the two. Ta-dah!
Want to play? See if you can correctly match the Creature from Column A with the Feature from Column B, for the names of eight actual Oregon wineries.
Your job is to visit all eight wineries mentioned and find out the real story behind their name choice. I think you'll find the conversations quite interesting.
