How Many Calories.....?

According to U.S. Dietary Guidelines, there are about 100 calories in a 5 ounce glass of most wines. By comparison, a 12 ounce serving of most commercial beers comes in at around 150 calories, and a proper pint of a good craft brew can be more in the 350 calorie range.
Many believe wine is high in sugar because it is made from grapes. Not true -- the fermentation process in wine-making converts sugars into alcohol. Only sweet or dessert wines are high in sugar. Plus wine is fat-free, cholesterol-free, and in almost every case, gluten-free.
(You know what else is fat-free, cholesterol-free, and gluten-free? Water.)
